Getting a Rabbit Out of Your Garage

Getting a Rabbit Out of Your Garage

Unfortunately this morning I was welcomed by a furry creature as I tried to leave for work. I opened our garage door and noticed a little animal hiding under our toolbox. My first thought was this is a huge rat. I closed our door and began hitting our door to try and scare this animal off. I opened the door back up to be greeted by a bunny with its head now facing me, only about 3 feet away. I panicked and really didn't know what to do. I walked outside through our front door to get a picture of this bunny.

The bunny is right behind the canisters and right in front of the red toolbox.

He literally would not move to save his life. No matter the noises I made or things I hit, he stood still.  I called my husband to figure out what I should do. He wanted this animal out of our garage ASAP. He called our friend who lives down the road to come help. Thankfully he had not left for work yet and was able to come to the rescue (Owen's Pest Control to save the day!). He arrived and confirmed that this was a baby bunny. He walked up to it for it only to scamper farther under our toolbox.

Justin used our flag pole to tap on the items he kept hiding behind/under. He made his way from the toolbox, to the wheelbarrow, to our paint collection, and finally hid behind the wooden Colonel Rebel. At this point, I was standing outside videoing what I thought would be the baby bunny's escape. Unfortunately, he did take off, but only to return to the toolbox!

Justin once again continued to tap the bunny's hiding places. This time, Justin decided to block the bunny's return points. We pulled some things out from the wall, and I, fearfully, stood near the toolbox hoping to deter the bunny's return. Finally, the bunny made its way back to the Colonel Rebel.

This time the bunny took off out of our garage and into the street and across our neighbor's yard. Unfortunately I did not get a video of this escape, but we did get that bunny out of our garage. We also have some cleaning to do because it appears this bunny has been in our garage awhile!

All of our garage is in our front yard while my husband sweeps and pressure washes it clean!
