Santa's Village
Last weekend we decided to take Melody to a local place called Santa's Village. It is an yearly event hosted by EarlyWorks Museum. We have never been to the EarlyWorks Museum, but we decided to try out Santa's Village to see what it was all about. We went with my best friend, her husband, and their 6 month old baby. The total cost for 2 adults was only $10. Melody was free since she is under 1. Below are some of our pictures from the night.
It was a cute place, but I am not sure I will take Melody next year. I only say that because I am not sure Melody will get $5 worth of fun at 18 months old. I think the next year she will be a good age. Who knows, we may go anyhow! It has a lot of good photo ops that may be worth it next year. They have a small stage with music going on. Throughout the night it will "snow" and Christmas characters will come out so that you can take your picture with them. There is a small maze for kids along with various rooms for peeking in to (think an elf's workshop or Mrs. Claus' kitchen). They have souvenirs and a place where you can buy snacks. They have free gingerbread cookies you can decorate. There is a live reindeer, but it is fenced off where you cannot interact with it. And the fence is one of those tall metal ones, so it honestly makes it hard to really see the reindeer. Lastly, you can have your picture made with Santa Claus here as well. The opportunity is free, but if you want the picture, you have to go to the website and buy it. We already had our picture made with Santa, so I doubt we will buy these. Melody didn't smile any unfortunately.
We are using this year to try out different "traditional" events while Melody can do them for free. It gives us an opportunity to see if it is worth the price in the future!
