Solario Cantina
Almost every visit we have made to Opryland, Solario Cantina has been closed. Usually we go in the middle of the week, but with school, we now have to go on the weekends or during breaks. During our visit to Opryland in January, we finally had the chance to try it!
First off the experience was much different than we expected as well as what the website implied. The website implies that it is a buffet service. It does not go into detail what the buffet serves, but it is what it says in regards to price and such.
While walking earlier that day, I stopped by to see that there is an actual menu that you do order from. The menu looked appealing, so we gave it a go.
Once we arrived, there was a line outside of the door. We assumed it was a line to wait and be seated, but we were mistaken. You actually order here. Then you get a number and find a table. Think of service like Newk’s.
The bar is full of water cups if you want one for yourself or child.
There are plenty of tables even if it does look busy.
We found a table on the patio area. There was not much people watching as I had hoped, but it was still nice to feel in a very open space.
To start, we ordered chips, salsa, and queso. Both the queso and salsa were really good. I was afraid there would not be enough, but there was actually plenty in the end.
Mom and I each got margaritas. She got the original and I got the strawberry. Both were really tasty, and I would have loved to order another had we had a more patient child with us, ha.
For dinner, mom and I split two entrees. First, she ordered the Mixi-Chop Chop Salad. I actually really enjoyed it and found it very refreshing. I find it to be a perfect lunch option (if they are open for lunch of course). The salad was filled with lots of extras including beans, corn, radishes, and more.
I ordered the. chicken enchiladas. The enchilada were really good, but not quite like you would find at a local shopping mall Mexican restaurant. I really liked it much more. Especially with all of the added pico de Gallo. The beans were good, and I did not try the rice.
