Doc McStuffins Invitations

Doc McStuffins Invitations

For Melody’s 6th birthday party, we did a Doc McStuffins theme. I love to make unique innovations. And I thought the perfect invite would come in the form of a doctor’s bag!

I made three bags using some paper I already had laying around. I wasn’t sure what size to do, so I wanted to make three different ones. I wanted the invite to fit in the envelopes I already had. So I made one that worked width wise, one that worked proportional to a bag but was larger, and one that worked height wise. And I ended up going with the one that was most proportionate.

I had to get more cardstock so that all of the colors matched. I went with a dark purple, light purple, and dark pink.

Then it came time to make all the parts of the invite. The dark pink was used on the top as both the handle and the piece that connects it. The dark purple was the main part. I used white cardstock to print the info on. That went on the inside of the purple. I used the light purple to make little circles to go on the front as well as printed Doc McStuffin labels for the outside too.

Now to assemble. I folded the dark purple piece in half. Then I used glue to attach the information about the party on the inside.

I then took the pink piece, and I folded it in half. Then I glued just the back side to the back of the dark purple piece.

Next up was Brad’s creation. I needed a way to “seal” the bag without destroying it when they opened it. So Brad came up with a cut I could make where the light purple went inside the dark purple. Then the pink slid behind the light purple. Then I taped the Doc McStuffins circle onto the light purple to cover up the cut.

The last thing I did was add the handle. I used glue to attach the handle to the back of the invite.

I loved how this invite turned out and how fitting it was.
