Opryland Hotel January 2024
The Opryland Hotel in Nashville is one of our favorite nearby getaways! We paid it a visit in January of 2024 for the long holiday weekend.
On our drive in, we stopped at CoolSprings Galleria to shop around American Girl and the mall in general. We had to document the return of Toys R Us, even if it is just a small section of Macyβs now. While Melody has technically been to Toys R Us many times, she was too young to remember it. It is so sad she is missing out on such a fun store! This small section doesnβt even compare.
We checked in at the hotel, unpacked, then we had dinner at Jack Danielβs BBQ. We have eaten here several times on previous trips. We had the delicious rolls along with brisket. It is always a decent option, and if you time it right, the wait is typically minimal.
We ended the evening watching the fountain show. It is completely free and such a fun way to end the night. Melody loves listening to the music and sitting close enough to get slightly wet by the falling of the water. We always make time to see both shows at least one during our trips.
The next morning we had a fun surpriseβ¦Melodyβs tooth was barely hanging on! Loose teeth always cause a panic for her. She is so afraid of swallowing it and hates dealing with all the blood from it.
We spent time at the indoor pool as we always find Soundwaves, the indoor water park, really crowded for the price. And Melody was still at an age during this trip where she didnβt LOVE getting her face wet unless it was by her own doing. So waterslides were not her friend yet. Usually we find the indoor pool to be fairly calm. This is especially true when Soundwaves is open.
We also did some exploring; Melody does call this the βexploring hotelβ, and I hope that never changes!
For dinner, we decided to head to Cascades and eat some sushi. They have delicious sushi at dinnertime, and they still have a good kidβs menu that Melody will eat from.
After dinner, we spent the evening walking around and exploring. We watched the fountain shows again. This time Melody brought a phone and recorded parts of it. We also took some pictures since they still had some Christmas decor still up. And we had dessert. Melody picked a cookie the size of her head!
The next morning we got up, explored, got coffee, and packed up before heading home. We did stop back at CoolSprings Galleria one last time. There was a snow storm coming late that night, so we didn't want to risk staying too long and getting caught in it.
Overall it was another great trip!
