All in Randomness
Yesterday was Brad's 34th birthday! We started out the morning with the breakfast of his picking...French Toast and link sausage.
A new indoor playground opened in Huntsville recently called Let's Play. My best friend, Emily, and I decided to try it out on a whim a few weeks ago. It isn't exactly right down the street from us. It is actually about 15-20 minutes drive from where we live. That doesn't seem too far, but it does usually require a little more planning when you have cranky one year olds! Anyhow, we happened to be near it one day visiting a consignment shop, and we decided to just try it and see if it was really fun for our aged kids.
We go to Costco about once every eight weeks or so. Surviving any trip to a store these days requires some sort of bribe for Melody to keep her quiet throughout our visit. Typically I bribe her with puffs or some other snack along with water. On occasion, I will bring her a toy of some sort to keep her entertained. However, Costco can be a much longer trip than our average grocery run. We spend at least two hours a visit most of the time. We walk up and down every aisle to see what's new and what we think we need [we always walk out with at least one thing we didn't plan to buy].
Sunday was Brad's second Father's Day as a daddy. He is such an amazing dad to Melody. It is true what they say. You do see a completely different side of your husband when he becomes a dad. And you fall in love with him all over again, but for completely different reasons. I knew he would be an amazing dad. He is truly a kid at heart. But seeing him with Melody has been more than I ever expected. Melody and I love you Brad!
So I have officially been a mom for a little over a year now. I thought I would take some time to reflect back on this last year.
Sunday was my first Mother's Day since having Melody. While we celebrated Mother's Day while I was pregnant, it was extra special to celebrate having Melody here.
So our local Chick-fil-A is doing a special today since it is May 4th aka Star Wars Day. If you wear Star Wars gear during prime lunch and dinner hours, you get a free entree per person.
Since the weather has warmed up, we try and get outside more with Melody. She loves being outside, but it is a lot of work sometimes! Once she is walking, it should be easier. Anyhow, we are hoping to spend more time outside over the next few months. Check out some of the recent pictures below!
Some of you may wonder how I add my logo to EVERY SINGLE PICTURE on my website. A few months ago, I would literally add it to each photo using Pixelmator. This is one of my main photo editing tools I use. This was taking me FOREVER. I complain to Brad a lot about things I want him to fix for me. One of those things was my logo. I wanted an automatic way to add the logo to my picture without having to do it one at a time.
My best friend and I decided we wanted to take our babies to the pumpkin patch this year. Sure, they aren't really old enough to remember it or do much, but you can say that about almost everything we do with a 5 month old! Luckily with all of our crazy schedules, we were able to find a weekend we could go.
So Brad came up with a fun idea for each of our blogs. Once a month, we are going to each write about a topic. Each month alternates who comes up with the topic. We will not read each other's post until they are live! Brad was up first this month. He picked the title "Why We Love Disney World". You can check out his post over at his blog!
Brad's birthday was Tuesday, August 30th! He took off work and spent the day with Melody and me.
Brad begged me to start playing Pokemon Go from the moment it was released in the App Store. He would send me links to the app; he would show me the game itself on his phone; and he would constantly ask me to play. Then one day, he just downloaded it on my phone while I was feeding Melody. Talk about being sly...
My husband and I had a pregnancy scare when I was 18 weeks along. We felt that there was not enough information on the internet to help comfort and guide us during that difficult time. I decided to share my story. This isn't my typical crafty, fun blog post. It is a raw, emotional post about our experience. I hope you are not reading this because you are going through the same thing, but if you are, I hope that this provides you with some hope and knowledge about our story.
My mom and I recently went to Disney World for my 30th birthday. Since I am pregnant, it is technically my baby's first trip to Disney World. Sine my husband wasn't with us for her "first" trip, he asked that I take pictures of my "bump" as if it was a baby selfie. This would allow him to see her first trip from her perspective. Below are the pictures I captured!
Prior to meeting my husband, I really didn't know much about the development of Legos today. I remember the boxes of Legos as a kid that you just built what you wanted, but I was not exposed to the Lego sets like Star Wars, Harry Potter, Back to the Future, etc. Then I met Brad. He already had tons of Star Wars Legos. Then I started becoming more and more involved. It started small. I would find a set on clearance at Walmart and purchase it. Or I would find a small set on vacation. Then what truly got me, the Disney Princess Line! So below are some of our sets that we have already put together. We have many, many boxes still to assemble, but this is a view into our completed sets right now!
