All in Vacations
Every Disney trip we try and do some sort of countdown. I do try and come up with some original ones, but one we go back to often is the paper chains. It is easy and cute. And you and you can really make it more involved if you want too!
I am in the process of redoing our closet and making it better organized. I will be blogging about the closet as a whole later, but one thing I did need to come up with was storage for my Mickey Ears. I really wanted to display them, so I decided to use one of the empty walls and do just that.
So in February back before the quarantine, Melody and I went to Pensacola with my parents for a few days. My mom had to work at a few stores, and Brad happened to be out of town. So we left on Tuesday after Melody finished dance class and drove down and spent through Friday morning.
Back in October we flew to Disney via Frontier Airlines. It was my first time flying with them, but my mom had flown with them before to Las Vegas from Nashville. She didn’t have the best experience, but we were hoping for a great experience
So a year later, I decided to finally post about this painting I did with Melody. I guess I forgot we even did this and stumbled across it and remembered how cute it was! During a countdown for one of our Disney trips, we did different Disney related activities. One of those things was making an “UP” Painting. It was a very thrown together idea that was a risk, but it turned out great!
While at Magic Kingdom in October, we decided to have lunch at Columbia Harbour House. I love that this isn’t the usual theme park food, and the location is great.
Well I am back with another Disney stroller tag, ha! This time it is from our trip in October. Melody and I went with my mom on a work trip. We only spent two days at the park itself, but we did spend time at both Disney Springs and Port Orleans French Quarter. So we did get a lot of use out of it. So much use, it was all torn up by the end of the trip.
One of the best (and worst) rides at Disney World is the Magical (or sometimes “Tragical”) Express. The Magical Express is a free airport shuttle provided by Disney World to Disney resort guests. They can transfer you to and/or from the airport/Disney resort. We have used this service countless times. It is a great perk if you are staying onsite. Read all about it below!
When we went to Disney back in October, we stayed at Buena Vista Palace. BVP is located across the street from Disney Springs. Since we were there with my mom who was on a business trip, the location was ideal so that Melody and I could go grab food and shop easily. During our trip we ate at Wolfgang Puck Express twice. This used to be our go-to spot. But then Disney moved the buses on the other end. It wasn’t as convenient, and we started eating at Chicken Guy! more. So it was a nice treat to get the chance to eat here again. It was right near the walking bridge from the hotel. And the foods servings are usually plentiful.
As with all trips, we try to do a little happy for Melody. Our trip to Disney in October was no different. I already had all of these things on hand. I try and buy random small things like this throughout the year and save for trips or random small gifts.
While at Disney back in August, we had lunch at Pinocchio Village Haus at Magic Kingdom. We have eaten here on past trips too. It’s a great place to cool off, and if you time it right, it isn’t very busy at all. They have a variety of food for even the pickiest eaters too!
When mom and I took Melody to Disney World back in October, we stayed at a new (to Melody and me) hotel. Melody and I would be spending a few days at the hotel alone during the day, so we picked this hotel because of the amenities. Mom had stayed there before, so she knew there would be plenty for us to do.
On our way to Disney back in August, we stopped at Freddy’s Frozen Custard and Steakburgers in Orlando. It was about a 5-10 minute drive from Disney itself, and it is next to one of the outlet malls. We had time to kill until my mom could meet up with us, and this sounded really good based on reviews online.
Back in August we went to Disney very last minute, and we had to throw together a stroller tag. While it isn’t necessary, it is truly easier to find your stroller with something that makes it stand out.
While at the beach this summer in Destin, we stayed next door to a restaurant called RedFish Tacos. We never really had the opportunity to go inside and eat there (Brad’s parents did), but one afternoon Brad did go get us lunch there and bring it back to the condo.
While at the beach this summer, we stayed directly across the street from an ice cream shop. It was constantly packed and had a huge line. So one night we HAD to try it. We managed to go when it wasn’t too busy., and be sure and bring cash! There is an ATM machine if needed though. The flavors change daily. I ordered strawberry cheesecake and it was delicious. I recommend going, but bring cash and come early!
My mom had to take a work trip to Orlando back in October, and Melody and I tagged along. We flew Frontier for the first time, and we stayed at Buena Vista Palace at Disney Springs. Both of our annual passes had expired, so we just bought two day park hoppers for the weekend when my mom wasn’t working. However, we found plenty to do seeing that we were across from Disney Springs.
While at Disney back in August, we visited Backlot Express for the first time in a long while. I am not a huge burger person, so I have typically avoided eating here. We don’t usually spend a lot of time at Hollywood Studios, and when we do, there are a lot of other places I would rather eat at (I am really selling this place to you, huh?).
When we went to Disney back in August, I threw together a happy for her to take and keep her entertained during our car ride. Luckily with it being such a last minute trip I had a lot of these things stored away for a special occasion. I do that often.
One of the last places we ate while at the beach this summer was Local Catch. Brad and I actually tried to eat there earlier in our trip, but they had live music and it was really, really loud. So we opted to return later. It was fairly close to our hotel too which was really nice because we were able to ride the golf cart there.
