Disney Party

Before one of our Disney World trips, I decided to throw a Disney party to get some of our friends excited about their trip.  Below are some of the things I did.  You could easily spin this party into a birthday party too!

Recovering Kitchen Chairs

A while back, we inherited Brad's great-grandmother's dining room furniture.  We had the furniture refinished, but then we needed to recover the old chairs.  We found some really nice fabric that would go well in our kitchen.  Ultimately we knew that this table would fit better in our kitchen since it was a drop-leaf table.  The fabric also needed to blend in with our living room since the two rooms are so close, and it turns out some of the chairs are scattered throughout the living room.  Below is a tutorial on how we (Brad) recovered our chairs!

Our Favorite Binge Watching TV Shows

We love to binge watch TV, especially during the summer when there is so little on live.  Every now and then we will even binge watch during the rest of the year if we hear about a really good show that we want to start.  We have a subscription to Netflix.  It is only $7.99 a month, but we definitely get our use out of it.  We use Netflix for most of our binge watching.  We have also used the free trial of Hulu Plus whenever we wanted to catch up on a current season of a show, but that has only happened once.  Below are some of our favorite shows that we have binged watched.

Iced Coffee Rankings

Brad and I have really been into drinking iced coffee lately.  It actually started about a year and a half ago.  We were in Atlanta at the Chick-fil-a pregame pep rally prior to the Ole Miss vs. Boise State game.  Chick-fil-a was giving away free samples of their new iced coffee.  We tried it, and we were amazed.  I always hated the idea of cold coffee, but this was great.  We were given coupons for a free iced coffee, and when we used them, we were really disappointed.  I think they just were not trained in stores on how to make them.  We gave them another shot about 8 months ago.  They were still just ok.  Over the past few months, we have been on the search for the best iced coffees.  Below are my rankings so far!

Disney Quick Service Review

As you may have read in my previous post, Brad and I just returned from Walt Disney World.  We went back to celebrate our two year anniversary. We did not eat at a lot of quick service restaurants, but I did want to briefly review the food when we did.  I have pictures in most cases, but either way, I have my opinions below!

Chefs de France Review

As you may have read in my previous post, Brad and I just returned from Walt Disney World.  We went back to celebrate our two year anniversary.  As I wrote about yesterday, Brad and I always select one must do restaurant.  Mine is always Teppan Edo, his is one of the French restaurants.  I personally prefer Chefs de France over Monsieur Paul simply because of the dessert selection.  If they offered the same desserts at both places, it would be Monsieur Paul without a doubt.  That is simply because of the environment.  See below for pictures and my review of Chefs de France.

Teppan Edo Review

As you may have read in my previous post, Brad and I just returned from Walt Disney World.  We went back to celebrate our two year anniversary.  Teppan Edo has turned into one of those restaurants I feel I need to eat at every time we go to Disney.  We first tried it back in September with friends.  Then when my mom and I returned in January, I had it again.  I don't really know why we love it so much.  I mean there isn't anything super Disney-esque about it, but it is really, really good hibachi and the service/experience is always great.  See below for my review and pictures!

Be Our Guest Dinner Review

As you may have read in my previous post, Brad and I just returned from Walt Disney World.  We went back to celebrate our two year anniversary.  When we originally started planning our trip, I did check for reservations for hard to get places at the 180 day mark.  Be Our Guest was already booked up for the date we thought we wanted.  It wasn't a huge deal to us, but it was a restaurant I wanted to try at some point for dinner.  Well about two months prior to our trip, I tried to check once a day or so to see if anything popped up as available.  Sure enough on April 6 it did.  The moment I saw it, I didn't question a thing, I just booked it.  I knew I could rearrange any of my Fastpasses or Touring Plans if needed much more easily than being picky about a time for dinner at Be Our Guest.  See below for my review and picutres!

Be Our Guest Breakfast Review

As you may have read in my previous post, Brad and I just returned from Walt Disney World.  We went back to celebrate our two year anniversary.  Be Our Guest breakfast was not originally part of our plan.  When Disney announced that they would start serving breakfast at Be Our Guest back in March, we decided we would definitely see if we could get reservations prior to park opening.  If so, we would try it.  If not, no heartburn about missing it.  I was able to get a reservation at 8:05 a.m.  I did keep an eye on park hours to make sure that the opening did not change to 8 a.m.  If it changed, we planned to cancel our reservation.  Luckily it did not.  See below for pictures and my review.

The Hollywood Brown Derby Review

As you may have read in a previous post, Brad and I just returned from Walt Disney World.  We went back to celebrate our two year anniversary.  We decided to try The Hollywood Brown Derby because we had heard good things from friends you had eaten there.  Originally I planned to book this with the Fantasmic package, but when we secured our dates, we decided that our Hollywood Studios day would only be a half day since we spent our first evening there.  We opted to try it at lunch mainly because it was less expensive.  This is also one of those two credit restaurants that we would not normally eat at if we were on the Disney Dining Plan.  See below for my review and pictures.

Le Cellier Review

As you may have read in my previous post, Brad and I just returned from Walt Disney World.  We went back to celebrate our two year anniversary.  For our actual anniversary, I knew we would be in the parks, so I wanted us to eat somewhere really nice.  We decided to eat at Epcot since there our countless nice restaurants throughout the World Showcase.  I decided we should try Le Cellier.  Brad loves a good steak, and I read that the steaks here are amazing.  Since we were not on the dining plan, I decided we should try as many 2 dining credit restaurants as possible.  This one did not disappoint.  See below for pictures and review!

Disney's California Grill Review

As you may have read in my previous post, Brad and I just returned from Walt Disney World.  We went back to celebrate our two year anniversary.  California Grill is a restaurant that we wanted to try two years ago while honeymooning at Disney.  We were staying at The Contemporary and we heard that was the place to eat.  Unfortunately our honeymoon was during their big refurbishment, so we were unable to eat there.  I made it my mission for us to eat there this trip.  That was the ONLY reservation I made at the 180 mark because I wanted to make sure we had this reservation at a decent time.

Disney's Jedi Mickey's Star Wars Dine at Hollywood and Vine Review

As you may have read in my previous post, Brad and I just returned from Walt Disney World.  We went back to celebrate our two year anniversary.  Since we were unable to be at Disney during Star Wars Weekends, I wanted Brad to experience something special that was Star Wars related.  We decided to try the Jedi Mickey's Star Wars Dine at Hollywood and Vine.  We hated to spend the money for the Star Wars breakfast, and it really didn't fit in our schedule.  We booked our dinner for our first night at Disney.  The cost for this buffet is $57.99 per adult and $34.99 per child.  You did get a PhotoPass card with a copy of your picture with Jedi Mickey on it.  See below for my review and pictures!
