We travel to Destin, FL quite often because Brad's parents own a condo at Tops'l Beach and Racquet Resort. We have a lot of restaurants that we love, but one of our favorites is Stinky's Fish Camp. It is actually located in Santa Rosa Beach off of 30A. While the food can be expensive, it really is amazing. I am not sure we have ever had a bad meal here. The only recommendation I have is that you should arrive early! Everyone knows how good this place is. We went on a Friday at 5:30 in June, and we had to wait an hour and a half. Something also to note is that you are required to valet your car.
I have found multiple recipes to make mini quiches, but I made it my own by adding the ingredients we prefer.
We don't have overnight guests over often, but when we do, we like to do something special for them. Below is an easy idea to make your guests feel welcomed and appreciative if they have forgotten anything!
Every year, Brad and I do some sort of remodel to our house. This year we decided to redo our floors in our living room, hallway, and dining room. We wanted to replace the carpet and put in laminate floors. To save money, we decided to install it ourselves with the help of some of our friends. We purchased all of our products from Lowe's. We decided to get a Lowe's Credit Card since we would get 5% off all of our purchases. I think it saved us somewhere between $100-$200. They also have some special weekends where you can get 10% off.
We are currently obsessed with iced coffee. So it was only natural that I formulate a recipe for us to use. I have a Keurig and we like our coffee sweet and creamy.
As you have possibly read in one of my previous posts, Brad and I try to visit a new restaurant once a week. This hasn't happened a lot lately just due to our schedules, but last month we did get to visit a new restaurant at our outdoor mall. It is called Bravo Italian. It has been here for a few months now, we wanted to let the newness wear off a bit before giving it a try. Bravo was so crowded, at first, a reservations was required to eat there during lunch if you wanted to avoid a long wait.
Before one of our Disney World trips, I decided to throw a Disney party to get some of our friends excited about their trip. Below are some of the things I did. You could easily spin this party into a birthday party too!
These sausage balls are a nice, healthy alternative to traditional sausage balls.
A while back, we inherited Brad's great-grandmother's dining room furniture. We had the furniture refinished, but then we needed to recover the old chairs. We found some really nice fabric that would go well in our kitchen. Ultimately we knew that this table would fit better in our kitchen since it was a drop-leaf table. The fabric also needed to blend in with our living room since the two rooms are so close, and it turns out some of the chairs are scattered throughout the living room. Below is a tutorial on how we (Brad) recovered our chairs!
We love to binge watch TV, especially during the summer when there is so little on live. Every now and then we will even binge watch during the rest of the year if we hear about a really good show that we want to start. We have a subscription to Netflix. It is only $7.99 a month, but we definitely get our use out of it. We use Netflix for most of our binge watching. We have also used the free trial of Hulu Plus whenever we wanted to catch up on a current season of a show, but that has only happened once. Below are some of our favorite shows that we have binged watched.
This whipped cream recipe can be used as a topping on many desserts. Featured below is simply pound cake with strawberry toppings.
Brad and I have really been into drinking iced coffee lately. It actually started about a year and a half ago. We were in Atlanta at the Chick-fil-a pregame pep rally prior to the Ole Miss vs. Boise State game. Chick-fil-a was giving away free samples of their new iced coffee. We tried it, and we were amazed. I always hated the idea of cold coffee, but this was great. We were given coupons for a free iced coffee, and when we used them, we were really disappointed. I think they just were not trained in stores on how to make them. We gave them another shot about 8 months ago. They were still just ok. Over the past few months, we have been on the search for the best iced coffees. Below are my rankings so far!
With our beach wedding, I wanted escort cards that would tie into the theme really well. I spent much time on Pinterest trying to find the right thing. I ended up deciding to do "Message in a Bottle" escort cards.
If you are looking for a quick and healthy snack, try these homemade potato chips.
As you may have read in my previous post, Brad and I just returned from Walt Disney World. We went back to celebrate our two year anniversary. We did not eat at a lot of quick service restaurants, but I did want to briefly review the food when we did. I have pictures in most cases, but either way, I have my opinions below!
As you may have read in my previous post, Brad and I just returned from Walt Disney World. We went back to celebrate our two year anniversary. As I wrote about yesterday, Brad and I always select one must do restaurant. Mine is always Teppan Edo, his is one of the French restaurants. I personally prefer Chefs de France over Monsieur Paul simply because of the dessert selection. If they offered the same desserts at both places, it would be Monsieur Paul without a doubt. That is simply because of the environment. See below for pictures and my review of Chefs de France.
As you may have read in my previous post, Brad and I just returned from Walt Disney World. We went back to celebrate our two year anniversary. Teppan Edo has turned into one of those restaurants I feel I need to eat at every time we go to Disney. We first tried it back in September with friends. Then when my mom and I returned in January, I had it again. I don't really know why we love it so much. I mean there isn't anything super Disney-esque about it, but it is really, really good hibachi and the service/experience is always great. See below for my review and pictures!
