Prior to meeting my husband, I really didn't know much about the development of Legos today. I remember the boxes of Legos as a kid that you just built what you wanted, but I was not exposed to the Lego sets like Star Wars, Harry Potter, Back to the Future, etc. Then I met Brad. He already had tons of Star Wars Legos. Then I started becoming more and more involved. It started small. I would find a set on clearance at Walmart and purchase it. Or I would find a small set on vacation. Then what truly got me, the Disney Princess Line! So below are some of our sets that we have already put together. We have many, many boxes still to assemble, but this is a view into our completed sets right now!
I really wanted to have a gender reveal party for our family and friends to announce the gender of our baby. However, my mom and I were going to Disney in January, and I wanted to know before our trip. This did not line up with my 20 week appointment. Then with the holidays, it was impossible to have a party after finding out at 16 weeks. Therefore, we came up with different ways to tell our families over the holidays. Check out each way below!
Over the next few months, I am going to keep you updated on our nursery progress. Below are a few pictures of the "before" and "right now". For the next couple of nursery posts, I will be showing pictures of both the future nursery (previously was a craft room) and our guest bedroom. A lot of things from our craft room is going into the guest bedroom. Once it is finished, the focus will solely be the nursery!
These lemon cookies are really quick and easy to make, and they taste delicious!!
My husband and I found out a week before he was going out of town that we were pregnant. Based on everything I knew at the time, I was approximately 5 weeks pregnant. He was going to Hawaii for work for 3ish weeks. Since this is our first pregnancy, we wanted to wait and tell family after my first doctor's appointment. I couldn't get into the doctor until I was around 8 weeks. So we decided to tell everyone when my husband got back.
On our coffee table, I used a short table runner to give it some color. It is very glittery and is also fall colors with leaf patterns. I reused some of the orange flowers from Halloween with a vase to finish it off.
I have some cute fall/leafy wired ribbon that I used surrounding my ceramic decorative plate and wrote "Happy Thanksgiving" on it. I have a lot of Thanksgiving and fall paper supplies that I used as well. I switched out our white plastic ware, and I replaced it with crimson and brown instead.
Luckily I was able to reuse a lot of our Halloween décor for Thanksgiving! I used my burlap table runner with our initial on the ends. For the centerpieces, I reused the orange flowers and vase from Halloween that was used in our kitchen. I think it worked perfectly with the Thanksgiving colors I am using. Next the to the flowers is a brown candle holder with an off-white candle. And to the other side is a ceramic turkey. Both of those items were purchase by Brad before we were married, but I think they work wonderfully with the rest of the décor.
I love decorating for Halloween! Check out some of my kitchen decorations below!
If you want a fairly inexpensive Halloween door hanger, be sure to look at this post. It is very simple and quite easy to complete in a day. The longest part is waiting on the paint to dry!
I found this easy banana pudding recipe here and I had to share it. It was extremely simple and quick to make, and it tasted SO good!
If you are looking for a super easy and quick dinner, check this out. With only 4 staple ingredients, it's perfect! And the sauce is optional.
As you will be able to tell in one of the pictures below, our first visit to Pieology was a few months ago. However, we went back recently to try it again, get a few more pictures, and taste their "breadsticks" (more on the quotations to come). I will say, our second experience was very similar to our first. So my review will be based on both, but I will specify if there were any differences as I go.
On our last Disney trip, one of the crafts we did before our trip was paint Disney pictures frames. This is extremely inexpensive (maybe $2 a frame), and it is super easy! We did Mickey and Minnie Mouse but feel free to change things up!
Unfortunately, I waited until it was blazing hot outside to really start working on my outdoor décor. But everything seems to be holding up pretty good so far, so hopefully this heat won't kill all my pretty pink plants that I am about to show you. I am not a green thumb by any means, but with it being warmer outside, we tend to grill more and have company over. I just couldn't let our surrounding porch areas continue with the winter lifelessness that they had. So below are some fairly inexpensive spruces that I did to liven up our outdoor areas!
