Ponytail Favors

I recently hosted a Baby Sprinkle for my sister in law.  For her last baby shower, I made bookmark favors.  I considered making a favor that incorporated sprinkles to continue with the theme.  I thought maybe actual sprinkles, or some sort of food dipped in sprinkles and served in cute snack bags.  But I really wanted something people would use.  So I decided the favors should be ponytail holders!

Roasted Tomatoes

Our neighbor gave us some fresh tomatoes from her garden this summer.  She gave me so many I had to find something to do with them before they all went bad!  So I decided to roast them for a side item one night to go along with our dinner.  Below is the recipe I came up with.

Melody's Last Bottle

So Melody was nearly 18 months old when she took her last bottle.  I could never get her to take formula from a sippy cup prior to 12 months old.  She would take water from a cup without a fight.  When we transferred her to milk, we did so via a bottle to make the transition from formula to milk easier.  Well that kind of bit us in the butt.  She transitioned easy, but the bottle has stuck.  She would not take milk from anything but a bottle.  Some meals I would try the milk in a cup, but she would refuse.

Cream Cheese Sugar Cookies

I found this recipe on Pinterest a while back.  I happened to have all of the ingredients on hand, so I decide to fix them one day for Brad.  He loves cream cheese anything and sugar cookies, so it only made sense.  They were super good, but I had to like quadruple the frosting recipe to cover all of the cookies.  Check it out below!

Baby Sprinkle Onesies

Since I have a Silhouette Cameo and a heat press, I thought it was only fitting to make a few onesies for my sister-in-law's baby sprinkle that I hosted at my mother-in-law's house.  My MIL's house has a fireplace as soon as you walk in.  Ok-not literally as soon as you walk in, but you see it as soon as you walk in.  Anyhow, I knew this would be the perfect place to hang a few onesies.

Disney with a Baby

So we took Melody on her first trip to Walt Disney World back in February.  I have been meaning to write a post about generally doing Disney with a baby, but the baby has been occupying my time and this post has fell to the bottom of the pile.  Anyhow, it is quite different from all of my other Disney trips.  We are actually planning another trip over the holidays, so I thought I should freshen up on Disney with a baby by finally writing this post!

Diaper Raffle

I recently hosted a Baby Sprinkle for my sister in law.  Since she already has one daughter, she has lots of things already that she can use of Caroline's.  However, the big thing she really needed was diapers and wipes.  So I decided that one way to make sure she received a lot of diapers was to do a diaper raffle.

Time Saving Household Cleaners

Having a one year old and being a stay at home mom, I have to find ways to clean our house easily and in a short amount of time.  Melody follows me around and likes to be right underneath me, so I don't want to spend all day cleaning.  I usually clean early in the morning right after she gets up.  She is happiest during this time of day, and she will usually play more without being right under me.  So this gives me an hour or so a day to clean or do some sort of chore.  I can also do some things during her naps, but I usually like to decompress and blog during that time.  So below are just three things that I feel have made a huge difference in my household cleaning!

Baby Sprinkle Invitations

For my sister in law's baby sprinkle, I really wanted to play on the sprinkle theme.  This included the invitation.  I decided I wanted the background of the invitation to be covered in sprinkles.  I went back and forth about how many sprinkles to put on it, but I opted for the most amount of sprinkles I could fit!  I printed them on white cardstock and cut the page in half.

Chicken and Bacon Potatoes

I found this recipe in the Family Circle magazine.  It is from the April 2016 issue, but I didn't make it until recently.  I got really behind on reading the magazines (ha!).  Anyhow, this recipe looked really fascinating and easy.  It really was easy to make, and it was really good.  I will definitely be making this one again!

Halloween 2017

Just like last year, we decided to do family costumes for Halloween.  One day we put Melody's hair in pigtails, and that is when it hit Brad...let's dress her up as Boo from Monsters Inc.  Brad and I planned to dress as Mike and Sulley.  I bought our shirts from Hobby Lobby.  We decide who would be who based on the fact they did not have my size in the blue shirt, ha!  I bought purple heat transfer vinyl, and I had blue, white and black HTV at home.  I used the Silhouette Cameo to make our shirts.

Baby Sprinkle

My sister in law is due with her second little girl at the end of November.  I know it is not customary to through a huge baby shower for the second baby, but I still wanted to do something for her.  I decided to throw her a sprinkle.  She just invited family, and we kept it small and simple.  I will post links to a few posts later going into the details of how I did a few things, but overall you can check out the Baby Sprinkle below!

Squash Salad

I found this recipe in one of my Family Circle magazines.  The only reason I noticed it was because I wanted to try the chicken recipe attached to it.  Then I noticed the chicken recipe also included a squash salad recipe.  Check it out below.

Taco Salad

Is it weird to see a recipe on a day other than Friday?!?  Well this really isn't a recipe so to speak.  The pictures speaks for what the recipe is.  But I did want to share it because it was really yummy nonetheless.  I found this "recipe" on Pinterest.  You can customize it anyway you want.  The base is lettuce, then the toppings are up to you!  I added avacado, sour cream, salsa, taco meat, cheddar cheese, and green onions.  I lined it all up nice and pretty, then I mixed it altogether to eat!  Yummy!

Budget Spreadsheet Updated

A few years ago I posted a budget spreadsheet template that we have been using regularly.  This year I decided to make a change to next year's spreadsheet.  I wanted to put all of the entries in one tab instead of individual monthly tabs.  I did this so that we had a better view for the entire year if we wanted to view it that way.  You can still filter by month if you want to view it that way too.  The budget itself is still by month, but you can still view it yearly too.  I have been using this new version for September and so far in October, and we have loved it.  I wanted to go ahead and share it with you all in case you want to start working on your 2018 budget!
