Fingerprint Cross

So while we did this craft as an Easter craft, it can definitely be a craft you can do anytime of year. We plan to display this cross year around. Because of this, I did it on a canvas instead of regular paper. But this also can be done on regular paper too!

Dining Room Makeover

During this quarantine, we have decided to take the time to complete some lingering projects since we are home 24/7. Brad is still working from home, and I am trying to keep a routine with Melody and continue teaching her preschool things. But we still are constantly seeing these uncompleted projects ALL the time. So the project that we see the most, and it is the easiest to complete was our dining room. We had everything but the paint, and we already had samples picked out that we wanted to try. And since it was the first thing you practically see when you walk in our house, it just made the most sense!

Honey Bun Cake

So this is one of those recipes I have seen floating around facebook for some time. I actually bought all the ingredients with the thought I would make it for Emily and Justin during a game night. But then the Corona Virus hit, and we haven’t seen then in well over a month. So I gave up and made it for Brad and me. It is really good, but it does make a LOT. So we wasted probably half of it.

Bounce House

Back in February before all of shutdown of all things due to the corona virus, we visited Pensacola. While there, my mom worked during the days and into the evening. So we had to find things to do from around 11 am until 7 pm. Well we visited two different indoor play areas. Neither place was too hard to find and within about 20-30 minute drive from our hotel. You likely aren’t looking for these places when you go to the beach because you are there to enjoy the warmth and sunshine. But if you find yourself there during the colder months or while it’s raining. Both places are great to visit with little ones. Today I will share about Bounce House.

Painting with Easter Eggs

If you are like me, you now have tons of those plastic Easter eggs laying around this week. Well one thing you can do with them is have your kids paint with them! You can make this as simple or as elaborate as you want. I let Melody pick 4 paint colors. Then we took two eggs and separated them. Then she used the inside of each egg to paint.

Easter Weekend 2020

As I mentioned on Easter, it is a different one this year. We made the best of the entire weekend though. We spent a lot of time outside on Saturday since it was supposed to be stormy and rainy on Sunday. We ended up cooking a nice lunch and spending the day hunting eggs, watching church, and FaceTiming family!

Easter Pictures 2020

Easter is definitely not the same this year as previous years. We won’t be spending it with family outside of the three of us. We won’t be having our lunch at Texas de Brazil. And we won’t be able to make it to our church. We are very thankful for technology though. We will still be able to FaceTime our families today. We will likely order a nice lunch. And we can watch church via our computers. Happy [unique] Easter everyone!

Bunny Mask

The bunny mask is the last of my Easter specific crafts, I think. These last two weeks have been full of Easter and spring crafts. And there are definitely some more spring crafts to come, and even a fun after-Easter craft next week too! What is kind of neat about this craft is you can do this with a variety of animals too.

Cotton Painted Eggs

One of our projects last week was to paint an egg using cotton balls. Well our neighborhood and entire city really is asking everyone to put eggs in their window to offer people an alternative to hunt eggs. So we actually ended up cutting five more and doing six altogether. I did two myself. Its super easy and doesn’t require anything but paper and paint!

Easter Bunny Canvas Painting

With all of this time at home, we are crafting like crazy! So I have lots of Easter crafts to squeeze in this week for you. This one is a lot easier if you have something like a Silhouette Cameo. Although with some adhesive vinyl and some scissors, you can likely do something similar that isn’t as precise!

Easter Egg Painting Craft

So this is another craft we did during our homeschooling days. It didn’t go quite like I had planned, but Melody wanted to do it her way. And it wasn’t worth the battle, ha! I will explain as I go along as to what I had hoped she would do.

Unexpectedly Homeschooling Week Four

Every week, and nearly everyday, there is something new going on with the quarantine. This week we have found out that social distancing is going to continue at least through April 30. And we also now have a shelter in place order for Alabama. The shelter in place order doesn’t really change any of our habits. We are already only getting out for essentials or doing drive thru orders. So nothing huge for us personally. And we continue on with homeschooling and project completing!

Easter Baskets 2020

So Easter baskets were a little more difficult this year thanks to the coronavirus. Luckily I did a lot of my shopping before all of this even started, and I would say 90% of this stuff you can even get online either through Amazon or through a pickup service such as Target or Walmart.

Southern Gravy

I love gravy and biscuits, but I can’t have it at most places because it is made with pork and I am allergic. So I find myself making it at home instead. This is definitely a weekend breakfast for us, and it is better made with grease from turkey sausage or pork sausage/bacon instead of vegetable oil if you have it.

Counting Carrots

Now that we are stuck home and schools are no longer open, we are constantly finding new crafts to do to help keep us busy. Right now I am focusing on Easter/Spring crafts. This is a super easy craft, and as long as you have some glue, construction paper and scissors you are good to go!

Unexpectedly Homeschooling Week Three

Well we just finished week two of our new normal, and we made some adjustments from the previous week schedule wise. I feel like this entire adventure will be a constantly changing routine for us. We found out some major news in regards to schools here in Alabama, and it hit me hard. I will share more on that later. First up is how we did this last week.

Mickey Ear Display

I am in the process of redoing our closet and making it better organized. I will be blogging about the closet as a whole later, but one thing I did need to come up with was storage for my Mickey Ears. I really wanted to display them, so I decided to use one of the empty walls and do just that.
