Strollers at Disney

During all of our trips to Disney, we have mainly taken one stroller. It is our everyday stroller (or at least it was when we went out places, ha!). We have taken an umbrella stroller on another trip too. So I wanted to compare our experiences with both strollers because I always debate which one will be easier on our trips, and I figured there are other people wondering the same thing.

Beach 2020

The pandemic has messed with a lot of plans for a whole lot of people. One of those things for us was our vacations. We had a Disney vacation planned with my parents in late August which we cancelled because we were not entirely comfortable getting to Disney safely during the pandemic. In January, we were planning to do a BIG Disney trip just us 3. We had planned to stay around 10+ days at two resorts. This would be our last during the school year trip since Melody starts Kindergarten next year. But it is hard for us to justify that kind of money for a visit that doesn’t include park hopping. I mean we love to start at one park and end at Epcot for dinner. Instead we are hoping to take a smaller trip with my parents in January. However we did keep a trip we were hoping for, the beach. This trip wasn’t something planned out far in advance. We just knew we wanted to take a trip to the beach just us 3. COVID did really mess with how we do the beach, but we made it work the best we could.

Burrito Bowls

These burrito bowls are fairly healthy with the use of cauliflower rice instead of regular rice. If you like the ones from Chipotle or Salsarita’s, you should like these! I found this recipe via Instagram. Luckily I couldn’t really tell the rice was cauliflower.

Best Dad Trophy

When I asked Melody what craft she wanted to make for Brad for his birthday, she asked to make him a trophy. While that would be a perfect thing for Brad to make using his 3D printer, my Silhouette was going to be tricky. I did come up with a design to make one from paper that would stand up, but it failed. But I did keep the trophy itself I made and it is now just a paper one. And Melody (and Brad) still loved it.

Halloween Happy

It is hard to believe it is already October, and we are thinking about Halloween. But here we are. Like previous years, I threw together a Halloween Happy for Melody. We have not been getting out as much, so I didn’t get as many things from the Target Dollar Spot was previous years, but I was able to snag a few things a few weeks back, and I ordered the rest on Amazon.

September Fun

September has been busy! It is our first FULL month of school, dance, and occupational therapy! We have done some projects around the house, we traveled to see my niece’s baptism, and college football finally started in the SEC. Overall it has been a productive and fun month!

Silhouette Cameo Part Five

Since the pandemic started back in March, we have been busy keeping Melody entertained and keeping the family sane, so I have not used my Silhouette quite as much. But I did find time to use I for some gifts, shirts for a trip for a coworker of Brad’s, and masks. If you had told me in January I would be making monograms and names for masks, I would have thought you were crazy, but here we are!

DIY Telescope

One of the fun things Melody likes to do with her newish swing set is play with the telescope. She thinks it is so much fun to point it at us throughout the yard and find us. So we had the bright idea to let her make her own telescope using paper towel rolls.

Closet Revamp

In our new house, we have a massive master bedroom closet. And not just in size, but height. The shelves are so, so high I have to stand on my tippy toes to hang things. So the original layout of our closet kept all of my things on the bottom, and Brad took the top. But then I could never reach my purses, and my shoe situation was a mess. You can see the mess below!

Air Fryer Okra

We are loving our air fryer. One of our favorite fried things (or at least mine) is fried okra. But frying it in grease leaves the house stinky. When doing the recipe below, I actually tried two methods. I find this recipe is about as close as I can get to real fried okra.

Pandemic Legacy Season Two March

Now that we won February, we were able to move on to March. We had another perimeter report card to read first. Since we had not opened package 67 yet, we scratched the box. It basically just encouraged us where to focus on reckoning first. We scratched the second box to just be nosey, ha!

My Dad Rocks

One of Brad’s presents for his birthday was a fun and very hard craft I had Melody make for him before she went back to school. I made the template on my computer, and as we worked on it, I had to keep adding space because she has such big hand writing. It was a really adorable craft though, and I think Brad loved it.
