Quick Stir Fry

I am always looking for new and quick lunch ideas. Well we eat out every single Thursday due to Melody’s standing food therapy appointment. I get really tired of eating out at the same place every week. Especially since they have such a limited menu. So one week I only got their grilled chicken tenders, then I came home and whipped up a quick and delicious stir fry. I bought some frozen chicken too to have on hand to use when we don’t eat out.

Olive and June Mani and Pedi System

So this is definitely a post I will do a second version of in a few months. That will include better pictures and better looking nails after much more practice. So I found Olive and June on Instagram sometime ago. I debated buying it, but I was still skeptical on whether it was really worth it. Well it rolled around my birthday, and I had some birthday money left to spend. I basically could try out the Olive and June systems plus have a little money leftover, or I could pay for a years’ worth of FabFitFun. Both sounded appealing, but I ultimately decided to do the mani and pedi system from Olive and June.

Pizza Bowls

I found this recipe on the Home Chef website. I modified it some to fit better within Noom and to lower the carb count for Brad. It turned out delicious, and it is definitely a recipe we will make again. What is nice is you can adjust all the ingredients to toppings you prefer and customize it for whoever you are making it for!

My Noom Journey (25 pounds lighter)

I joined Noom back in mid-October. I basically was at a point that I really felt like I needed to do something about my health. I did lose around 30 pounds back in 2019. I counted calories and exercised. But the moment stress hit (we listed our house, we sold our house, moved, life), I gained it all back. I gained about 15 of it pretty quickly, then the other 15 over a year or so. COVID baking and take out did not help either. I had heard about Noom from many sources, and I finally decided to give it a go. I knew it was similar to counting calories, but I heard the articles could be habit changing. This is key to help me maintain the weight loss after I succeed. I received an email with an 80% discount, and I decided to just do it. I signed up for a year upfront. I did get a 2 week trial for free, however. I will try and do a post all about their app later. But you can find my experience so far below! I also created an instagram specific to my weight loss if you want to follow along. I am hoping it will help with my accountability as well. It is @livingmore_weighingless.

Honey Ginger Salmon

This salmon has become a favorite of mine. It is so quick and easy, I have found myself making it for lunch and throwing it on top of a salad. I buy frozen salmon and just thaw it when I need it. It is also a great recipe in terms of Noom.

Our Playroom Disaster

I sit and wonder how I let our playroom become such a disaster so often. Brad reminds me we wanted this playroom so the mess was somewhere else. But when I can’t walk in the room without stepping on a toy, it becomes frustrating. Especially since it is partially my craft room too. And it was also storage for some attic stuff while we converted the attic to a closet.

Kitchen Renovation

Our kitchen is probably one of the most used rooms in our house. We don’t just use our kitchen for cooking. We spend time doing crafts, playing, dancing, planning, blogging, etc. I mean I could go on and on. As I am writing this post, I am sitting at our kitchen counter with my coffee, water, and computer. We LOVED our kitchen remodel at our old house. One of my biggest desire when searching for a new home back in 2019 was finding one with the perfect kitchen. Unfortunately you can’t get everything you want. But I was sure to find a kitchen that had potential. And ours did. The cabinets are beautiful (at least to us). Sure they are not the off-white cabinets we had before, but this have so much custom detailing and are a great color nonetheless. The layout was ideal too. I even had my double ovens I always wanted. But like I said, it wasn’t perfect. I didn’t have a backsplash, and we once again had a very hightop bar. I also hated the faucet. So we knew when buying this house we would eventually re-do parts of the kitchen. We finally finished this renovation about 2 weeks ago, so I wanted to share with you all about it!

Cranberry Fluff

So I absolutely love this side dish as the holidays. I actually never had it until my first holidays with Brad’s family. I have never tried to make it at home because I would be the only person to eat it. But this year I did make it for my family at Christmas. And while they tried it, my mom prefers traditional cranberry sauce (from a can of course) and no one else is a fan. But it was great, so I wanted to share.

Walmart+

Back in January, we decided to try getting our groceries delivered by Walmart. In doing so, we signed up for the free trial of Walmart+. The trial lasted 2 weeks, and you could take advantage of all the perks during that time. To date, we have only taken advantage of 2 of the 4 offered perks. After the 2 weeks, we decided to continue by signing up for the yearly subscription. It cost $98. For the entire year you received free grocery delivery, free next day delivery on most items from Walmart.com, discount on gas at Walmart and Sam’s Club, and the ability to use the scan and go feature in the app at Walmart stores. Check out my review of the service below!

Bellpepper Egg Salad Boats

I love egg salad, but I have never found a great recipe to make my own. I have tried, but it is either too dry or too much mayonnaise. I also don’t care for egg salad on bread. I mean it is ok, but I really like it on salad. I get it often from Chicken Salad Chick. I saw this egg salad recipe on Instagram, and the user also used bell peppers instead of bread or salad. I decided to give it a try. It has become new item added to my weekly lunch rotations. It is super quick to make (and prep), and it is really healthy.

Laundry Stripping

A few weeks ago or so, I saw a story on Instagram where someone had “stripped” their laundry. I decided it was worth a shot to try on both our towels and Melody’s towels. We have had our towels since we got married back in 2013, and Melody’s towels since 2016. I figured if nothing else, they may come out smelling a bit better overall. Check out my results below.

Winter Stitch Fix

I received my winter stitch fix earlier this month. One of my requests was to receive clothes that I could easily work out in but also transition to carlines and errands. I think my stylist did a great job with my picks this month, and they were really on point with my request. Check them out below!

Valentine's Day 2021

While we always keep Valentine’s Day low key, this year was truly that. We stayed in all day (with the exception of a lunch trip Brad made), and we just spent time playing and relaxing (and prepping for an “ice storm”).
