All in Vacations

Rose and Crown

So I am really kicking myself in the butt for not trying Rose and Crown sooner. We have had many reservations here in the past, and we have always cancelled them for one reason or another. Well on our trip in February 2019, we finally tried it. And OMG and I am still drooling over it! Let me share with you how simple yet amazing this meal is.

Toy Story Land Early Morning Magic

So back in September, I was lucky enough to attend the Toy Story Land AP Event with my mom and Melody. And since Toy Story Land was so new, it is unlikely we would have visited had it not been for this free event. Well I really wanted Brad to get to experience Toy Story Land, but it is still crazy crowded, and I was unsure of how we were going to accomplish this on our trip back in February. Well then Disney announced Early Morning Magic at Toy Story Land. Unfortunately it isn’t free, but it is only $79 per adult. It gets you prime access to all three rides plus characters and breakfast from 7:30 am (or even 7 am if you opt to eat breakfast first) until park opening. Check out our experience below.

February 2019 Disney World Planning

Well we just got back from a trip to Disney World. Imagine that? Or at least I feel like that is what most people say, ha! I will say, this was our last family trip we have planned to Disney for awhile. Melody turns 3 in May, and she will have to pay after that. And we want to take a few bigger trips to other places. Now in a year, we will see if that statement holds true, ha. This trip is just the three of us. And it is the first trip we aren’t having to make time to visit with anyone else, so our break day was actually a break day at our resort. It was weird. Anyhow, check out all the planning that went into our trip below!

Unboxing the Resort MagicBand

I recently wrote a post about unboxing the AP MagicBand, so I found it only fitting to do a post about unboxing the resort MagicBand. These should be the only two cases (as of now) that you receive a MagicBand in the mail free from Disney. They come with a resort reservation since they are your room key, and they also come with your AP. You can obviously order them separately too, or you can buy other colors while at Disney World. Unfortunately if you buy a ticket, you do not receive a MagicBand. We just use bands we already have in those cases.

Unboxing the AP MagicBand

So I have been a Walt Disney World Annual Passholder for two years now. Once you activate your AP at Disney, you can then order a complimentary MagicBand. Of course this is a bummer if you were hoping to use the MagicBand and the AP slider on your first trip as a passholder. I suppose they do this because when you buy an AP, you don’t have to activate it for around 10 years. At least that was the expiration on my last one before I activated it at Disney Springs. And I guess there is the change they will change MagicBand styles or even have a whole new system in 10 years.

Disney Mobile Ordering

When we went to Disney back in September, I used Disney Mobile Ordering for the first time. I haven’t had a need for it honestly. On our trips prior to this one, we always had the dining plan, and they were not accepting the dining plan as a form of payment on those trips. Dining plans are accepted now, and we happened to be using a credit card on this trip anyhow.

Opryland 2018

For this year’s trip to Opryland, we wanted to go back at Christmastime. Last year we visited in the summer, and while it was far less crowded, it wasn’t as festive. They did have events going on, but nothing can compare to Opryland at Christmas. We loved our visit in 2016 at Christmas, so we decided to do it again!

Disney Bus Times

My mom and I were able to experience the newish feature in the My Disney Experience where you can see the bus times at your resort hotel. I wanted to share about it for those who may have not experienced it yet.

September 2018 Disney World Planning and Packing

So I am not going to make this post quite like my Disney World planning post from the past. This trip was completely different than all of my previous trips. We traveled with my mom on a business trip, so we didn’t do as much planning ahead of time. So instead of going through our dining reservations (we only made one or two prior) or our Fastpasses (we made very few of these too), I am going to go through some of the other things we had to plan and pack.

Toy Story Land AP Event

Back in July, Disney announced a special event for WDW Annual Passholders called Passholder Play Time. It was offered in September for various days throughout the week at 7 am and 8 am. It provided pass holders access to Toy Story Land for an hour with little to no wait times on the three rides along with the character meet and greets. And Woody’s Lunchbox was open for breakfast. Mom and I were able to snag a reservation for 7 am on one of the days during our September trip.

Yak and Yeti

Yak and Yeti is an Asia restaurant found at Animal Kingdom. Mom and I recently gave it a try on our trip in September. I have been wanting to eat here for a while, but it seems like we are never at Animal Kingdom long enough for a table service restaurant. But this trip, I was sure to make the time.

Disney September 2018

My mom has the privilege to travel for her job. She found out back in June that she was going to be in Orlando for a week. So she wanted Melody and I to tag along, so we picked the week based on our schedules. We decided to go in September.
