39 and 40
Since I haven’t posted about my 39th birthday, I figured I would pair it with my 40th birthday when discussing it! So check them out below!
39th Birthday
Last year, Brad was unfortunately out of town a lot of the early half of the year. So he was unable to be in town for my actual birthday. Since my birthday was over MLK weekend, we went and stayed with my parents for the weekend. Melody gathered lots of party supplies from my party boxes for us to take to their house. She then convinced my mom to take her to town to buy more things and help her decorate. I was told to hang out in our room until they were ready, ha. Melody went all out with decor, and we even had a piñata with candy. We also played A LOT of Animal Crossing Monopoly. We had a New Mexican restaurant for dinner then cake for dessert. Even with Brad out of town, they made it extra special as always.
40th Birthday
So we just celebrated my 40th birthday a few weeks ago. I asked to not have a big party because I wanted a bigger trip. So we are taking a Disney Cruise in May to celebrate my 40th and Melody’s 10th birthdays. However the cruise is still mostly my present, but with school, it made the most sense to go in May.
Brad and Melody still went all out as usual. Brad was up late putting out birthday signs in our yard so everyone knew it was my birthday. Brad bought me a birthday crown to wear, and luckily my birthday was on a Sunday, so I got to wear it to church…. I opted to do our “fancier” meal at lunch to have more room for cake that evening. So we went to the Cheesecake Factory. As usual, it was delicious! And in addition to my cheesecake, they also brought me an ice cream sundae to celebrate.
They decided to do a Disney themed birthday, so they raided the party boxes and decorated in all things Disney. We had a local place deliver dinner. Then we had a cake from my favorite, Batter Up Bakery. They did a great job with the cake. Brad told them to do an Epcot theme, and they knocked it out of the park!
Overall it was a great birthday, and I can’t wait to take our cruise to continue the celebration!
