Thanksgiving 2020

This year Thanksgiving was much smaller than years prior thanks to COVID and life in general. We traveled to Memphis to spend time with Brad’s parents for a few days. We also were able to see his brother, sister in law, and nieces at the end of our trip too.

Homemade Tortilla Chips

When I first started Noom, I was trying to find an alternative to potato chips. I love them. They were a go to snack for me. Since I have been on Noom for about 5 weeks, my desire isn’t as strong for chips. However, I did find an alternative that is “green” on their scale. I now make my own tortilla chips. This is great since salsa too is green. Everyone that tries them love them too. Even if you are not doing Noom, they are a great alternative to traditional tortilla chips.

Opryland 2020

One of our hopes this year was to go to Opryland. Of course COVID kind of threw a kink into that. But we did find a time that we thought would work with both our schedule and even safety. I really wanted to participate in the Christmas stuff, but I knew that would be busy and it was possible we would get there and not feel safe. Instead we went the week right before Christmas started (November 10-13). This allowed us to see all of the Christmas decor without all the crowds.

Fishing Bobber "One" Bib

My best friend’s baby just turned one! It is so hard to believe he is already one. She decided to do a fishing themed birthday party and asked me to make a few things for it. One of those things was a bib. She wanted it to say “ONE”, but for the O to be a fishing bobber. Check it out below along with pictures from his smash cake at his birthday party!

Disney Prints

I bought these prints for Brad for our anniversary from Etsy. I actually only bought two, but the seller sent me a third (the Epcot one). I wanted to get them framed, but I was unsure of how Brad would want them framed or where he would want them. Late this summer Michael’s had a deal where you buy one wall frame, you got two free. So we bought some and had them framed!

Backstock Closet

If you have been reading my blog for a while, you know I go to Publix weekly to check out their BOGOs. My back stock has been hard to store over the years. I usually just make it fit in the pantry and utilize the space at the top of my pantry for what won’t fit. But this makes finding stuff really hard. For sometime now, I have wanted to utilize our coat closet for some storage shelving. My original idea was to only use this for paper products, but I was able to get shelving tall enough to accommodate our food back stock too. I also blame The Home Edit for me finally doing this, ha.

Belgium Waffles

We love waffles around here. But we want those big fluffy waffles, and we never succeed at making them. We keep trying new recipes, but still can’t find them. Well these still didn’t make the fluffy waffles I wanted, but they were delicious and super easy to make. If you like cinnamon, I highly recommend these.

Mexican Corn

So I bought a bag of Mexican corn from Costco a while back and knew I would love it, but I didn’t. It just had an awful flavor. This recipe has all the flavor I hoped for, but my only complaint was how cold it was after mixing everything in with it. I think it would be great heated up after the fact, maybe, or even eaten right away.

Rainbow Sunshine

I am almost done writing all about our crafts from our time during quarantine. This one Melody seemed to really enjoy. It was a quick craft, but it still had enough detail involved that it kept her busy.
